Williamsburg September 17. 1803
Dear Sir
I enclose you a few accounts which it is probable you
may have an opportunity of collecting for me the money
has been long due me and would really be of service to me
now more than ever I can not get money for some time
except from those persons for whom I have done some Busi
ness and for which some of them can refuse to pay
The memorandum marked “Peasley’s Trustees &” if
shown to Captain Tabb, Captain Hall, & Major Whiting will
be attended to certainly They were the gentlemen who
were commissioners & knew how the Business was done
Mr. George Catlett can not hesitate one moment
to pay the eight Dollars it is little enough for my
writing, and little enough certainly for what it
saved him this Business I did for him two years ago &
he proposed the sum of eight Dollars himself
I have got but half of my things from Norfolk, when they
Come I shall send over some to you in the mean time
when you are in want write to me, and small supplies
may be had from hence tho’ I am very much afraid
of getting things in this place until I can get some
money We shall want a gallon or two of Tar here
for our wheels send me word how every thing
goes on I am your obedient Servant &c
