Benjamin Marable is safely arrived home. Henry Southall has “intended to your house.” Ben is in great need of a friend. He has no hopes of getting his money until Spring and is obliged to pay 25 pounds at Court on Wednesday. Begs to borrow money until Spring. Will suffer disgrace and expense of two lawsuits unless Marable “can be my friend.” Has heard “the fresh [floods] has been over your ground.” Both corn and tobacco is “drounded.” Half Brother George and family are well and much hurt with “the wet.” Hopes to find Marable and “sister” in good health.
