London 7th November 1774

Sir

In our last of the 9th September, we intimated that the Representativs
of Mr,, Pinnock were dermend ^ determined to sell the English Estate & that we had by
Mr, Fell forbid them, since which, Messrs. Walker & Dawson have been
several times with us, & say as both the Miss, Pinnocks are now Married
& in all probability may have Issue, by which your right to the Estate
will be Cutt off, whether it wou'd not be worth your Notice to Compromise
the Matter with them so as to have a Certain, Sum than to Risque the
Event of a thing which may or may not fall to your or yours, We asked them
what they wou'd propose to give, as to that, they were, shy about, but
wanted you to propose, their Lawyer then said, supposing the Estate
sold for £6000 what wou'd that be worth, after two Lives, with the
Probability of their leaving Issue, by his Calculation of about 5 or £600,
we promised to write you on the Subject & beg'd we wou'd transmit a Copy of
the Will, with the Councils opinion thereon, & which is the exact Copy of
what we heretofore sent you, withall if you intended a Compromise that
you wou'd six your sum & Empower us to settle it with them thus it, stands,
& which we submit to your better judgement if you incline to the Com
promise you may be assur'd of our readiness to serve you,

Messrs Farell & Jones, have returnd us the Execution of William. Randolphs Exa
on themselves for £374,,5,,3 which with th Charges of Protest &c
£ 1.10.8 being together £375,,15,,11 you will pass ot our Co the others of
Mr. R. Burwell's £57.13.10 & Jacobs on Lee for £72.. are to your Credit..

We are now to Acknowledge the Receipt of yours by Peterson
we thank You for your Assistance to him & in the disposal of your

the price obtain'd may be satisfactory, tho at present ivory

As you request we have sent the Account Current belonging to Mr. Robinsons
Estate, which includes every transaction to this day, leaving Ballance
in its favour £ ... as also that of your own to the 22d August in your
favour £2656..9..4 which beleive you'll find right,

We have wrote to Mr Frank about the Ballance £35..10..8, part of
which we shall we shall insist on, tho the other part so as the whole
Repairs do not exceed the £40, we imagine he will expect,

The Speaker thinks as Young, Mr. Robinson will be so soon of Age, that
by a proper power by him executed to us, we may sell the Estate & give
a sufficient Title to the speaker or any other purchaser, without the
sending the Writings from hence, for if we were to do the Latter, the
Purchasers Name must be included; & that it wou'd be Inconvenient
as it might prevent our disposing of it, to more Advantage to any other
person,

The dissolution of the last Parliament with the Bustle of Electing
the New has engross'd the whole Attention of the Public, so that little
is said about the Affairs of America, but is suppos'd nothing more
will be done till the Resolutions of the Congress are known, if they
are of a Humiliating Nature, the New Parliament are expected will
Interfere, & Compromise the Difference, but if the Contrary the honor of
this Country will not permit it to be trampled upon, as they think
it was by the Behaviour o fthe Bostonians, we think there has been
Faults both by the Parent, & Children, the First has Certainly gone
greater Lengths to the Good of both than she shou'd & the Latter is
supposd had been endeavouring to thro' off every dependance here,
& tho intentionaly it was not expected to Operate so soon, yet a time might
come, when the Strugle wou'd have been greater, & therefore this Country was
determin'd to take the First Opportunity they had to Convince the
