Rockefeller Library copy from the library of Alfred Moffat, Scottish music editor and collector, with his signature dated 9 Jan. 1907 on the front endpaper.

Rockefeller Library copy includes Alfred Moffat's notes on the front endpaper: "The six sonatas in this work issued by Walsh as op. 2, are nos. 1, 12, 4, 3, 5, 6, from the fourth book of Leclair's Sonatas, op. 9: one of the many examples of Walsh's messing up opera numbers in order to deceive the music-buying public. Leclair's op. 2 is the 'Second Livre de Sonatas [XII] pour le Violin ... avec le Basse Continue, Paris, 1725.' Another example of John Walsh's dishonesty."
