Know all Men by these presents that we Benjamin
Tompkins Edmund Pendleton and John Taylor of Caroline County are
held and firmly bound unto Richard Corbin Esquire of King and Queen
County his certain Attorney, Heirs, Executors, Administrators, or Assigns
in the sum of Two Hundred pounds Current Money to the which
payment and severally, our joint and several Heirs Executors and
Administrators firmly by these presents, Sealed with our Seals
and Dated this 11th day of June One
Thousand Seven Hundred & Sixty Eight.

The Condition of the above obligations is such that Whereas the
above bounden Benjamin Tompkins, Hath undertaken for the Consideration
of One Hundred pounds to erect a Dam sufficient to keep the Water flowing by
the tide, out of a Marsh belonging to the said Corbin at his plantation called
Moss's Neck, which Dam is now finished; And is also to keep the said Dam
in constant repair during the term of seven years from the first day of
December last past, Now if the above Bound Benjamin Tompkins his
Heirs, Executors, or Administrators do well and truly keep, perform and fulfill
the said Covenant Agreement on his part, then the above Obligation to be void
Else to remain in full force and Vertue.
