Whereas it hath been humbly represented unto Us on
behalf of James Horrocks Minister of the Gospel now
residing in Our Colony of Virginia, that he was by an
Appointment form Doctor Terrick Bishop of London
bearing date the 5th. day of January 1768, constituted
Commissary for exercising Spiritual and Ecclesiastical
Jurisdiction within the said Colony in the room of William
Robinson deceased, And that a yearly Salary of One hundred
pounds hath been allowed and paid out of the Quit Rent[s]
in the said Colony, as well to the said William Robinson as
to several of his predecessors in the said office, in respect
thereof, And We have been humbly besought to allow a
like Yearly Salary unto the said James Horrocks during his
continuance in the said Office, whereunto We are graciously
pleased to condescend and Agree ; Our Will and pleasure
therefore is, And We do hereby Direct Authorise and
Command, that out of any Monies which from time to time
shall be in your hands of Our Revenue of Quit Rents arising
in Our said Colony of Virginia, you do pay unto the said
James Horrocks all such Sums of Money as are already
due, or from time to time hereafter Quarterly or otherwise
shall become due unto him for and upon the Yearly Salary
of One hundred pounds, Which We hereby Give and Grant
unto him in respect of his said Office, the said Yearly Salary
to

to Commence from the said 5th. day of January 1768, and
to be payable and paid for and during such time as he
shall continue to execute the said office of Commissary,
Or until We shall signify Our pleasure to the contrary.
And this together with the Acquittance or Acquittances
of the said James Horrocks shall be as well to you for
making such payments as to the Auditor General for
Allowiing thereof upon Your Accounts a sufficient Warrant,
Given at Our Court at St. James's the Eighteenth day of
June 1768, in the Eighth Year of Our Reign.
