York August 3d: 1773

Honord Sir.

In my Letter by Mr. Graham I men
tion'd my Brother. Gawin's having got some Ship Bills
from Doctor Riddle & that They were not Indorsed by
Riddle. I carried them this morning [illegible] he refused
to do it but said if it was customary he woud. This
cou'd not persuade him the Officers on the other
Rivers did I shoud be glad you woud write a line to
the Doctor on this head. I have got the Bills from Gawin
& they are Inclosed also a Bill drawn by Goosley and
Indorsed by Riddell in satisfaction for the Protest which
with Interest. from 2nd November. to 2n this Instant./August being 9 months
Amount. to £930 I have sent up these Bills being
apprehensive we shall not be at Home time enough
for you to remitt them by Esten as Frank will not sail
before Sunday he is very well & in good Spirits & what I
am happy to see Colonel Fairfax [illegible] of him

I hope you & the Family are well & may long continue
so

I forgot to mention to you above a message from
Colonel Nelson: he woud be glad to know whether you
can furnish him with the Money he says you
promised to let him have to remitt by Captain
J. Esten My Brother: intends sending Bristol up
tomorrow I shoud be glad you woud please
